Sourcing Management
After procurement has been finalised, the early stages of a new contract are critically important in establishing the management style and behaviour patterns for the relationship. Cornwell consultants have considerable experience of supporting a wide range of sourcing management activities including:
- Building and sustaining an in-house capability, an intelligent customer organisation (ICO) to manage external suppliers of goods and services.
- Managing supplier relationships to achieve required service levels and value for money.
- Transitioning service provision to an external supplier when a major business function has been outsourced or a new service has been created.
- Measuring customer satisfaction with services delivered.
The size and structure of an ICO will depend on the nature of the services outsourced or bought-in and on the characteristics of the resulting business change. Our consultants normally approach the development of the ICO by first establishing the organisation’s needs, then developing processes to meet those needs before identifying the staff levels required, job descriptions and key competencies.
The ICO may need additional support at key events such as when large changes are required leading to a need for technical input or at contract review/benchmarking stages.
