Information Quality Management (IQM)

Effective information quality management (IQM) is necessary to achieve successful information management and knowledge management. IQM ensures that the raw material or data an organisation uses for information and knowledge is as accurate and complete as possible. Information quality management focusses on the processes, tools and procedures employed to maintain current, consistent and accurate information.

Whilst understanding of the importance of IQM is improving, capability amongst most organisations is still immature, and the lack of coherent practices adds cost, time and uncertainty to many operations and projects, especially in procurement and in-service support.
